has broad experience molding industrial, medical, and electronic
components such as plastic bearings,
bushings, low friction
materials, valve plates, poppets, lenses, housings, and vanes that
require the high temperature and corrosion resistance that high
performance plastics deliver.
Special, custom compounds providing superior properties for
bearings, ESD, EMI, or stiffness / strength are possible by
compounding base (neat) resins with glass fibers, carbon
fiber,
nickel coated carbon, or lubricants such as graphite or
fluoropolymers (PTFE).
Many
of these high strength materials are excellent metal
replacements.
Substituting plastic for metal maintains strength while
improving corrosion resistance, reducing weight, and allowing for
greater design flexibility.
