Aurum®,
originally developed by NASA, is a relatively new member of the high performance plastics
family. Aurum is the finest injection moldable, bearing material
available in the general market today. Aurum has 600 degree F capabilities,
and high load/low friction
properties not duplicated with other injection moldable materials.
Aurum has high viscosity and requires higher performance injection
molding machines to mold it properly. The best properties
are achieved by processing at elevated melt and mold temperatures.
