Fluoropolymers:
FEP (Fluorinated
Ethylene Propylene)
and PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy)
Fluoropolymers
have important and somewhat unusual properties. Both FEP and
PFA have extraordinary chemical resistance. They are virtually
impervious to everything. While they are relatively soft, they
are stiffer than PTFE.
FEP
is used for temperatures up to 400 F.Due to low surface energies, nothing
sticks to a fluoropolymer. They are commonlyused in printers, where
toner build-up is a concern.
PPL
processes these materials, as well as other Fluoropolymers,
such as ETFE (Tefzel), CTFE (Kel-F), and some fluoroelastomers.
PPL has been successful in molding Fluoropolymers in hot-runner
molds, reducing costs dramatically. CONTACT
