Because of our processing knowledge, our proprietary method and mold materials allow the high performance plastic to be injected at extremely high pressures without melt-fracture or loss of mechanical properties. The molds we design use special hard metals resistant to the hydrofluoric acid by-products of the molding process. They don’t severely corrode or misshape under the high pressures like traditional steels. Special hard metals are resistant to the hydrofluoric acid by-product of the molding process and or misshapen under the high pressures. These new mold steels, process refinements and the use of additives in the fluoropolymers are methods that we use to continue to improve finished material characteristics for a wider variety of applications.
