Management Team

The Performance Plastics Management Team is backed by operations and administrative groups with deep knowledge and long time industry experience. while the customer is their primary focus, their "hands-on" style keeps them involved in all aspects of the business.


Tom Mendel President

Prior to purchasing Performance Plastics in 1997, Tom was president of American National Rubber, a tier one supplier and manufacturer of closed cell sponge rubber and fabricated cellular gaskets for the automotive and various industrial markets. During his tenure, he directed the company’s growth from a single facility with sales of $7million to a multi-facility organization with revenues of $40 million. He has done the same with Performance Plastics.Tom is intimately involved in all aspects of the operation with a focus on customer relationships.


 

Ken Kelly General Manger

Ken has been with Performance Plastics since 2000. He has 17 years of experience in the plastics industry.  Prior to his role as General Manager, Ken held the position of Engineering Manager. His areas of expertise include plastic part design, tool design and material selection.  Ken holds a BS in Plastic Engineering from Shawnee State University and an MBA from Xavier University, his technical expertise and problem solving abilities are enhanced by a strong team of high performance plastic experts.


 

Anthony Malone Director of Engineering

Anthony joined Performance Plastics in October of 2010.  Anthony has 16 years in the plastics industry. He has developed over 700 molds. Prior to joining Performance Plastics, Anthony was with Lexmark International with the primary responsibility of overseeing all plastic component development from design concept to initial production. Anthony holds a BS in Plastic Engineering from Shawnee State University and an MBA from the University of Kentucky. He knows how to make it work.


Chris Lawson Director of Product Assurance

Chris has been with Performance Plastics since 1994. He has responsibility for a number of critical disciplines within the organization including leading and managing our process development efforts. Prior to his current role. Chris holds a BS degree from University of Akron in Industrial Management and Quality Control. He makes sure it’s right.
