Our History
Performance Plastics Ltd. was founded in 1982 in Cincinnati, Ohio. From its inception, the company has focused on the application of highly engineered plastics for the performance advantages they provide when producing intricate part geometries with extremely tight tolerances.
Performance Plastics has molded PEEK since the material was first introduced in the early 1980's and has deep experience as approved processor of Torlon. PPL has also been involved in development work for liquid crystal polymer (LCP) resins. The company is one of the few able to mold FEP using 8 cavity, high volume molds with hot runner systems to produce critical fluoropolymer parts.
In 1997, the company was acquired by Tom Mendel who brought his passion for solving customers’ most difficult problems along with his two decades of technical and management experience. The facility has been recently expanded and is one of the most automated, efficient and best-equipped high performance plastic components producer in the U.S. Almost 30% of the components produced are shipped to international customers providing “Best in Class” value.
We are not for everybody. We tackle the tough stuff. Our goal is to build great relationships with our customers. When we are successful together, customers come back because they know we will do whatever it takes to get their problem solved.
