We have helped our customers achieve a great deal of success incorporating plastic poppets. In several applications, the plastic replaced and improved upon a metal poppet. The high strength and wear resistance of PEEK allows the poppet to withstand millions of cycles. The resiliency of PEEK also allows the poppet to conform to the seat surface, providing excellent sealing performance.

Cost Savings: For the PEEK compressor poppet shown to the left, our direct gating capabilities allow us to eliminate the runner system, signficantly reducing material consumption. We also mold the seat surface to a 0.0003" profile with no secondary operations. These capabilities allow Performance Plastics to provide high quality components and tremendous cost savings to our customers.
